Fuji Speedway Renewal Plan
Fuji Speedway Renewal Plan
Fuji Speedway Renewal Plan, a car racing track built in the lush green surroundings of the eastern foot of Mount Fuji with the aim of becoming the best in Asia, is a historic and traditional circuit that has hosted numerous races since its opening in 1966.
In response to the aging of the facilities and in order to revitalize the local area, and in order to obtain Circuit Grade 1 status enabling it to host F1 races, a complete renovation was carried out between 2002 and 2005.
The planning process drew out the site's potential through Landscape Design, including the approach road with its impressive view of Mt. Fuji and a memorial plaza that makes use of the old course's 30-degree bank, while also taking into consideration environmental aspects such as utilizing existing stock, reducing waste, and restoring forests.
Furthermore, we conducted a detailed analysis of the issues with the current facility and made improvements with a focus on reviewing the off-site guidance routes and entrance gate locations, setting entrance gate operation details and gate size, and creating a clear and efficient flow plan within the facility.
