Design of Tokio Marine Group's new head office building: The 100m-tall "Wooden Head Office Building" will be the largest in the world in terms of the amount of wood used, using domestic timber

The design (schematic design) for the new head office building has been announced by Tokio Marine Holdings Inc. and Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co., Ltd. Mitsubishi Jisho Design was commissioned to design the project and put it together with Renzo Piano Building Workshop.

The exterior of the new flagship building blends in with the streetscape of Marunouchi, and expresses a refined and elegant appearance befitting its location facing Gyoko-dori Avenue, which connects Tokyo Station, the gateway to Japan, and the Imperial Palace. Furthermore, wood plays an important role in the design, with domestic wood being used lavishly for the structural components, such as columns and floors, making this a 100m-tall "wooden flagship building" that will be the largest in the world in terms of the amount of wood used.

Going forward, our company will continue to be responsible for architectural design and construction supervision work toward completion in 2028.
