Japan Broadcasting Corporation SAGA Station

Japan Broadcasting Corporation SAGA Station

Based on the concept of "Becoming a hub for information, culture and exchange, and pioneering the revitalization of the city," we aimed to be a broadcasting station that shares the site of public broadcasting with viewers and is rooted in the community. Taking advantage of the location close to the ruins of Saga Castle and the prefectural square, we developed an indoor and outdoor space where the real broadcasting space directly connects with the city. With facade inspired by pottery stone, the raw material for ceramics, we created a building that blends in with the city and gives a sense of familiarity. We also considered using pottery fragments that become industrial waste during the ceramic manufacturing process, and used them for part of the exterior and interior finishes.
