The preservation and restoration of a historic building in the city center. A block development involving the preservation and restoration of the Japan Industrial Club Building (registered as a national tangible cultural property in 1920). A groundbreaking construction method was adopted, preserving the building through a seismic isolation device placed on top of a newly constructed underground structure.
