Nagasaki City Library

Nagasaki City Library

Based on the concept of "creating new roads within the city and building a town," the plan calls for an open-air space called "Crossroads" that can be accessed from all four sides of the town, and each zone has four functions, including a library.
The exterior is made up of bricks and Isahaya stone that evoke the history of the city of Nagasaki, as well as an open glass curtain wall. The curtain wall is equipped with green louvers that function to adjust sunlight, creating a quiet reading space where visitors can watch the activity of the city through the greenery.
