Shiodome Building
Shiodome Building
The construction site is blessed with abundant water and greenery at the former Shiba Rikyu and Hama Rikyu Gardens. We aimed to create a symbolic and stately urban landscape while harmonizing with the surrounding cityscape, which has a variety of different expressions, including historical sites. For facade, we ensured overall harmony by segmenting the mass volume and composing traditional Japanese design motifs with modern materials. We thought that a building-type architecture would be one way to express Japaneseness.
