The purpose of this project was to contribute to the overall improvement of industry and local development by carrying out a mixed-use development in Chiba City and Sakura City, Chiba Prefecture, which would include research and training facilities, housing and a golf course.
It is a large-scale development of about 190ha, and during the assessment process, the contents of the preparatory document were reviewed in response to the opinion of the governor, and the contents were changed in the evaluation document. For example, from the viewpoint of environmental conservation, construction of some of the reservoir embankments was halted and the golf course was changed, and additional surveys of rare species of flora and fauna were conducted, and various reviews were carried out to further reduce the impact on the surrounding environment.
The golf course is currently open as Asakura Golf Course.
