Yagoto Police Box / Yagoto Koushoji Parking for worshippers

Yagoto Police Box / Yagoto Koushoji Parking for worshipers

The first phase of development plans for the grounds of Yagotoyama Koshoji Temple, which is celebrating its 300th anniversary since its founding.
In order to streamline the confusing pedestrian and vehicular traffic flow, a multi-story parking lot with a capacity of approximately 220 cars was constructed on the side of the approach to the shrine.
In addition, by developing the surrounding area as a whole, including developing the adjacent children's park and biotope and replacing the aging police box, the result is a unified, green landscape and a bright approach to the shrine that is open to the local community.
facade of the police box and multi-storey car park were intentionally left unpainted, allowing the colour of the materials to change over time, creating buildings that blend in with their surroundings alongside the historic temple.
