JOYO BANK Tone Brunch
JOYO BANK Tone Brunch
A branch of Joyo Bank located in a residential area where the Tone River flows.
Our goal was to create a comfortable space for customers, as well as a bank branch with a strong presence in the local area.
The wall columns and eaves in the visitor lobby are designed to block sunlight in the summer and let it in in the winter, and their shapes were determined after simulating the amount of sunlight each season would receive. The wall columns are positioned so that their angle gradually changes along the gently curving eaves, and together with the facade materials finished with a Kushibiki plaster finish, they express the "majestic flow of the Tone River."
Other initiatives that are being undertaken with an eye towards the environment include a natural ventilation system that utilizes the wind direction most prevalent during the spring and summer months, and solar panels on the roof.
