Nishi-Shimbashi Square
A plan to convert the former Nippon Oil Corporation headquarters building into a tenant office building.
The exterior columns, which eliminate the need for pillars inside the building, and facade design created by the double-skin curtain wall, which does not get lost in the streetscape, have enabled both efficient use of office space and environmental performance. As the building was located on the edge of an outer moat during the Edo period, the interior has a Japanese motif, with stone walls, lattices, and washi paper, and the use of domestically produced lumber also contributes to low carbonization.
