Yurakucho District Tunnel Development Project (Tentative name) Nakadori Tunnel Construction

Previously, the Yurakucho area had a district heating and cooling system that connected the buildings together, but to further improve environmental performance, business continuity in the event of a disaster, and to ensure continued power supply when buildings are rebuilt in the future, a new tunnel was constructed underground under Marunouchi Nakadori Street.
In order to pass under the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line, a steep shield tunnel with a maximum depth of approximately 33m and a maximum gradient of approximately 20% is planned. The construction of this tunnel will form a new district heating and cooling network, contributing to improving the local environment and disaster prevention capabilities.
