Kirameki Terrace Healthcare Hospital
KIRAMEKI Terrace Healthcare Hospital
Kirameki Terrace is an urban development project in Kagoshima City that is currently underway to address the challenges of regional cities, such as population decline, aging, childcare, and employment. This 179-bed convalescent and chronic care hospital plays a part in this project. The large eaves reduce the heat load in the harsh sunlight of the area. The second-floor terrace and pedestrian-only circulation lines connect the hospital to other facilities in the block. The "zero circulation ward" adopted by this hospital has a corridor called the "veranda corridor" on the exterior wall. The lighting regulations integrated with this improve the environment of the hospital room. At the same time, the staff station is directly connected to each hospital room, making the nursing circulation lines for medical staff "zero (shortest)". We proposed a new method for ward design, which has overlapping specialized requirements, and obtained the first registration under the revised Design Act (※) for a hospital facility. Our company will consider how to use this as a PR tool for our company, rather than aiming to exclude third parties, and will consider how to operate and comply with laws and regulations.
*The revised Design Act, which came into effect in 2020, expanded the scope of protection from the previous "articles" to include designs for buildings, and novelty and uniqueness are now officially recognized.
