"The Grand Projet - Understanding the Making and Impact of Urban Megaprojects" is a research project on large-scale projects around the world, conducted by a project team led by Prof. Kees Christiaanse at the Future Cities Laboratory (Singapore-ETH Centre) in Singapore, with Marunouchi, Tokyo, selected as one of the eight cities to be researched. The symposium held in Singapore this time reported on the research results as a culmination of the research project, and lectures were given by experts on Marunouchi, Tokyo and Downtown Core, Singapore. In a panel discussion comparing all eight cities researched, the necessity and evaluation of large-scale projects, citizen participation, and future renewal possibilities were discussed.
