This is a lighting system that lights up the curtain wall. LED indirect lighting is installed between the glass wall and the back panel. Computer-controlled lighting creates a flexible atmosphere for the building. This lighting also has a maintenance system that makes it possible to replace all the light sources at once without having to remove the interior of the tenant building. The secret is the rails installed on the lower frame of the curtain wall. A lighting train runs over this, and the fixtures can be pulled out all at once from limited inspection hatches.
Mobile lighting system installed inside curtain wall
When incorporating a lighting system into a curtain wall, the challenge is how to approach it during maintenance. This system was developed to address this issue. Previously, we had to enter the tenant's premises and replace each lighting fixture one by one, but we had to install multiple inspection hatches on the interior walls of the tenant or create walkways near the windows to access the lighting fixtures. If it's difficult to approach from our side, we can have the fixtures come to us. The curtain wall is 300mm deep. A rail is laid on the bottom frame, and a cart with a light source is placed on top of it. Several carts are connected together, stretching out to the full width of the building. The installation is complete in this state. During maintenance, the carts can be pulled out one after the other from the limited inspection hatches on the floor, making it possible to retrieve the entire lighting system.
Calculate the friction coefficient and wheel diameter of the trolley
The first case of its adoption was facade of KI T T E H A K ATA. It is an exterior wall with a removable back panel installed inside the glass wall (see Vol. 8 "Inclined Back Panel of Curtain Wall"). The back panel is alternately inclined upwards and downwards to create a checkerboard pattern, but here, LED upper lights were installed only on the bottom end of the downward inclined panel. The light source is attached to a wheeled cart, and a dozen of these are connected together. A U-shaped aluminum metal rail is laid under the cart, and it can be pulled out from the end. The friction coefficient of the cart and the size of the wheels to overcome obstacles are also calculated, and it is adjusted so that one adult can pull it out by hand. The metal carts are pin-jointed with hinges, so they stop in the exact position without expanding or contracting.
