R&D WORKS TOP

It has become common knowledge to regularly clean mold and grime that develops inside air conditioner indoor units. However, cleaning the inside of a concealed fan coil unit, which is an indoor unit located above the ceiling in places like hotel guest rooms, is actually not easy. This is because the specifications do not allow for regular maintenance. So we installed a door on the fan coil unit, and reconfigured it so that it can be easily accessed from the inside and cleaned. This is the evolution of technology that never was.

The coil is directly high-pressure washed to remove dust, mold, and viruses.

In recent years, the number of home air conditioner indoor units being cleaned regularly has increased. This is due to the growing awareness of health and air quality to protect oneself from mold and viruses. Dust accumulated inside the indoor unit and water condensed on the coil can mix together and become a breeding ground for mold, but this is cleaned with a high-pressure washer. Traditionally, the inside of an air conditioner was not designed to be cleaned regularly. The idea was to keep the dust out with a filter and keep the inside clean. However, over time, mold would take hold and cause odors, which was a problem. In particular, cleaning fan coil units in hotel rooms required the installation of an extra-large inspection hatch or the removal of the entire unit by dismantling part of the ceiling. This required more than a week of construction work. Considering the operation of the guest rooms, this is not an easy task. Therefore, we designed a unit that allows cleaning without dismantling the unit by installing a door inside the unit to fit the high-pressure washer nozzle and providing a work space in the housing itself. You can enter through a standard inspection hatch and approach the coil part where dirt is attached. When cleaning, a water splash prevention plate is installed to prevent water from splashing onto the fan behind the coil. A user-oriented product has been created that allows necessary maintenance to be performed at the required time.

A high-pressure cleaning nozzle is inserted through the inspection door for cleaning, and the cleaning work is performed while visually inspecting the area.
The machine is designed so that a baffle plate (a plate to prevent water droplets from scattering) can be installed during cleaning to prevent cleaning liquid from splashing onto the fan on the right side of the image.
