YeaBookr 2024OngongPr i ojectsTokio Marine Headquarters BuildingThis is Japan's largest high-rise wooden office building project, designed in collaboration with Renzo Piano Building Workshop. Facing the Imperial Palace, the building is 20 stories above ground and 3 stories below, and is a hybrid structure of steel, wood, and steel-reinforced concrete, approximately 100m high. Domestic timber will be used in abundance for the structural members, columns, and floors. Plans include a glass facade that changes its appearance subtly with the seasons and time of day, a lush rooftop garden, and a patio in the center of the entrance. In addition to its excellent environmental performance, the "wooden headquarters building" will be the first new high-rise building in the Marunouchi area to use seismically isolated construction for the entire above-ground area, and will contribute to the realization of a safe, secure, and sustainable society with its high disaster response capabilities.
