003Becoming a Comprehensive Design Firm that Meets the Needs of a New EraThe COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to new demands in cities and architecture every day. For example, while remote work quickly spread during the pandemic thanks to the advancement of digital transformation that had already been in progress as part of the work style reform, physical offices are expected to offer new values, such as enabling a more advanced and engaging communication and providing comfort appropriate to the nature of the work.Similarly, in response to the global initiatives toward carbon neutrality, it is now expected to decarbonize existing buildings, in addition to new buildings that boast high environmental performance. We will need to commit not only to extending buildings’ service life through renovation but also to reducing CO2 emissions and acquiring ZEB certification.On the other hand, it is becoming increasingly difficult to foresee an accelerating and complex future.
