Year Book 202220th Anniversary ProjectMitsubishi Jisho Design 20th Anniversary Special Project +MIRAI PROJECT029An “event for supporting students,” which targets students from around the country who wish to become involved in “community” and “architecture.” Generally, concept competitions for students consist of work submission at the national level, judging, and winner announcement, but for this competition, the country was divided into six areas, and the first round of judging was conducted for each area, selecting each area’s best work. Originally, a tour across Japan, where the winners could come together, was planned, but the plan had to be canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, an online critique was held to receive reviews and lectures from the juror. After the critique, the winners spent about one and a half months polishing their projects. On November 3rd (Culture Day), they brought their works to the final presentation (held at Mitsubishi Jisho Design’s head office), where the presentation and judging were conducted. Prizes, including the national grand prize, were selected there.
