To create an architecture that embodies the local identity and reconstruction effort, we used timber from Kumamoto in various parts of the building, including the pilotis, entrance, and office floor windows. The design creates a sense of unity with the street trees while conveying the material’s potential toward the city. After the earthquakes, the former building was used as the base for countermeasures.
