Situated within a residential area with abundant greenery, these structures were designed to create a sense of continuity with the local landscape, through interiors that make use of many types of trees and the incorporation of Japanese timber throughout both the interior and exterior. A process of learning and exchange is fostered and encouraged not just by the training rooms, but also the numerous places for discussion, socializing, and learning throughout the foyer and the corridors. A seismically isolated structure was deployed for the accommodation block, in the interests of business continuity planning. With their wide variety of emergency equipment, the buildings were designed to function as a corporate disaster countermeasure facility. Year Book 2020019
